CHULUUT VALLEY CYCLING Route
This route may be ridden in either direction – you decide whether you want the big pass on the edge of Tsetserleg to be the first challenge you take on, or the final big push at the end of your trip. Other than the 30kms nearest to Tsetserleg, the route is entirely off paved roads, and is very well suited to both gravel and mountain bikes. It tracks along the Tamir River, the Chuluut River and finally the Suman River valleys, which are all different in character – of note, the rugged canyons near the confluence of the Suman and Chuluut Rivers. Nomadic herder families are abundant along the route. A highlight is the rustic hot springs located about half-way along the route. Climb the Khorgo Volcano, where the route begins/ends.
